April Fundraiser a Hit!
Many thanks to Karen and the girls from Karen's Ballroom Dancing and Fitness Studio in Peabody, hosts of our April 27 & 28 PALS fundraiser. Close to $3,000 was raised to help with veterinary care and supplies for our cats and kittens.
Special thanks to local businesses who donated raffle items including Snip-Its, Salem Wine Imports, D'Anna Photography, and CanvasMyPix, and to Zumba instructors Dot, Nena and Tara. Music was provided by Richard from R.J. Desanctis Entertainment, who made a great MC for the Saturday reception, and Carlos created the most beautiful (and tasty) cake. The most creative treat was these adorable "mice" made with Oreos, cherry cordials, Hershey kisses and almond slivers!
Support PALS with our latest (yummy) Fundraiser.
How would you like to help support PALS by dining at some great local restaurants? Here's how the new North Shore Dinner Dealer Deck works:
Dinner Dealer is a deck of cards containing over $300 in savings to local North Shore restaurants - over 40 restaurants between Newburyport and Lynn. Each card is good for a one-time discount at a participating restaurant. The deck is valid for all of 2013 and retails for $25. For every $25 deck sold, $10 goes to PALS.
Support our fundraiser by buying Dinner Dealer Decks! Go to www.DinnerDealer.com/PALS for more information, a list of participating restaurants, and to place your order.
Don't forget to pass this great fundraising opportunity along to family and friends. The goal is to Dine Out, Dine Local, Dine Often and, of course, help support our kitties.
March 26, 2013: Dinner Dealer was recently interviewed for the well-known blog, Good Morning Gloucester. Learn how they got started, their mission, and why this business is great for our local economy.
Congratulations Harley!
It's heartwarming to be reminded that every PALS cat does find a home! Congrats to Harley who, although a bit shy, found a wonderful new home in April.
Santa Claws® Popular with Dogs, Cats and even an Iguana
PALS volunteers and friends, including members of the St. John's Prep Animal Welfare Group, greeted over one hundred pets this month during PetSmart's Santa Claws photo event. We acted as photographers, Santas, Santa's helpers, printers and greeters and, in return, met lots of great animals and earned 50% of the proceeds from the sale of the holiday photos. While most of the photographers were amatuer enthusiasts, we were thrilled to have Paul Michaels of Man Mountain Productions shoot for us one day. Here are a few of his pix.

Paul is also responsible for the beautiful portraits of our cats seen on this site and on the cage cards in our Adoption Center.
We were also happy to meet BooBoo, an iguana who arrived in a pink down vest and changed into a red skirt before striking this pose. Santa, played by Evan from St. John's Prep, had no idea what he was getting himself into today!
Thanks to the Merchants of Salem's Museum Place Mall
PALS volunteers exhibited at the Museum Place Mall on Saturday, December 15 as part of their holiday open house. We were visited by numerous previous adoptors and made some new friends who dropped off cat food and supplies for our foster families and tried their luck at our raffles. Many thanks to the merchants of Salem's Museum Place Mall for inviting us to participate and for supporting our feline rescue efforts.
