Meet our Cats

  • 5-1-13 Roxie5-1-13 HollyRoxie (top) and Molly (bottom) are two adults, adopted 6 years ago and recently surrendered to us when their owner had a stroke and had to go to a nursing home.

Roxie, mom to Molly, is an 8-year-old long haired brown and black tabby. She has short, stocky legs, and a scrunchy face, which makes us think she may be part Persian. Molly, 7 years old, resembles her Mom but has a slight Maine Coon-looking face. Her color is a little more chestnut than Roxie's, and she has bright green eyes. Both girls are understandably pretty scared right now, but are very sweet. They enjoy being petted, will purr, head butt, and bump against your hand asking for more attention. Their foster Mom reports that Molly is a bit of a food hog, and is also the more social of the two. She's a bit more scared now, though, and it's Roxie who is more outgoing at the moment. Once settled into a new home, these two pretty kitties will make wonderful, loving companions.

Having spent their whole lives together, the girls must be adopted together. The adoption fee for both is $175.

  • 4-26-13 Morley

Morley was adopted from PALS as a kitten four years ago (just look at his adorable kitty photo!) and recently surrendered with no reason given. He is sweet, loves to be touched, and rolls for belly rubs. He’s a little scared, and not yet comfortable in the Adoption Center, but we give him credit for not being aggressive or disagreeable. Since Morley is used to being in a home, we are confident he will adapt well to a new family and return the favor with lots of love, cuddles and companionship.

  • 4-12-13 Sydneysydney 5-2-124-12-13 Sariasaria 5-2-12

Sydney (DSH tortoiseshell) and Saria (DSH black and white) were adopted from us as kittens almost a year ago.

While with their first family, the cats cohabitated with a lab and a springer spaniel. Saria especially enjoyed cuddling up with the springer, and chased him all over the house. Although they have been returned to us from a loving home, both cats are a bit on the shy side, though Sydney is vocal, seeks attention and is the perfect lap cat. Both cats have been intrigued by the other felines in our Adoption Center.

Sydney and Saria will benefit from quiet petting, soothing voices, and a patient owner.

  • 1-24-13 Bea

Bea is a two-year-old short hair calico, predominantly white, with traditional calico markings on her face. Rescued from a high-traffic area, Bea had apparently been fending for herself for a few months. A friendly girl, she rolls around in her bed looking for a bit of attention. She loves to play but her foster mom says she can get feisty and to avoid using feather wands. Although eager for pats on the head and neck, Bea does not like her stomach rubbed. Bea does just fine with other cats, but may prefer to an only kitty. She does request a home without a dog – turtles and fish would be OK! She has gotten used to the volunteers in the Adoption Cener and ejoys time spent practicing to be a good lap kitty!

If you are looking for a companion with a bit of sass, Bea may be the cat for you!

  • Maryanns FIV cat3

Charity is an 18-month old female calico, rescued as a pregnant stray. Tested positive for Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV,) Charity must be an only cat or live with other FELV+ kitties.

Overly affectionate, Charity rubs noses, offers up hugs and kisses, and is very vocal with her purring. Although
FeLV+, Charity does not have special needs at the moment. Vets cannot predict her longevity - perhaps eight years - but we assure you she will provide you with more love and devotion than many cats that live twice as long.

Infected cats can live many years without issues, and not all infected cats will suffer from serious disease, so a diagnosis of FeLV is not as scary as it may initially seem. Please speak with an Adoption Counselor or your vet to learn more about caring for a cat with FeLV.

    * If interested in meeting Charity, please call the PALS Hotline at 978-531-7478 to leave a message for Maryann, who is fostering this loveable kitty.

  • 4-19-13 Morrison

    Morrison
is a 3-year-old with a whole lot of stories to tell! He's had quiet a few adventures and has the scars and broken teeth to prove it. Picked up as a stray, Morrison is eager for a chance at a new life (he apparently followed the rescuer back to her car and jumped in.) Morrison is friendly, so we assume he belonged to someone at some point, and perhaps wandered too far from home.

Morrison is a sweet cat, loves to be petted and will head butt your face, sharing a very quiet purr. He is not a big one for being picked up and cuddled, though, so the affection will be on his terms. He does not like other cats and would probably prefer a home without dogs.

Morrison is quite affectionate and will make a loyal companion.

  • Keith 10-17

Keith is an 8-month-old male, the only sibling from a recent litter yet to be adopted. Understandably frightened of his new surroundings, and perhaps missing his siblings, Keith needs a patient, gentle touch in order to first establish trust. Once he gets to know you, he is very friendly and loving.

    * Keith has returned to foster care to work on his people skills. A bit shy in the Adoption Center, Keith needs time to adjust to new surroundings and a new home. If you would like to adopt Keith and have some extra time to work with him to help him come out of his shell, please contact our Adoption Coordinator at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Keith is a sweet kitten who has not had the fortune of knowing what it's like to be around caring humans in a safe, warm environment.

  • Rex

Rex is a friendly, loving, but very laid-back, 2½ -year-old male. Give him a little time, though, and he will shower you with purrs and plenty of lap time, especially if he knows he'll get brushed! Rex would prefer a home that will allow him to enjoy some quiet time, but also togetherness with you. A bit of a bully around other cats, he'd do best as an only kitty so he can be spoiled and have the run of the house. He is a special cat with lots of love to give.

Rex was trapped as a feral at 16-weeks in a local garage. He was originally adopted out from another rescue group but was recently found abandoned after his family moved on. Rex deserves a quiet, stable home where he can love you back.

    * Rex is currently living with a foster family where he is much more comfortable. He needed some time away from a cage in the hectic Adoption Center, and is proving to his foster family that he is a really loveable cat -- just not a fan of being in a confined cage. He loves visitors but tends to keep away from the other cats in the house. You can still adopt Rex -- email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
